Not sure how to pass the time when the winter weather picks up? Don’t worry, though it may not be street festival season, there are still plenty of things to do and places to go right in Kentwood, Michigan for the entire family, young and old.

Here’s a quick list of winter activity ideas to get you started:

  • Go sledding at home or at a nearby park, such as Old Farm Park, but be sure to be careful.
  • Explore the Kent District Library. What better way to spend time inside than learning or reading a good book?
  • Experiment until you are able to make the best hot cocoa, or grab some coffee, BIGGBY COFFEE, Java Cone, or one of the other many great coffeehouses nearby, where you’re also sure to find hot cocoa.
  • Take a trip to Grand Rapids, and go ice-skating at Rosa Parks Circle with your loved ones or friends.
  • Or, if ice-skating isn’t your scene, you could check out the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and explore the ice sculptures.
  • Consider a stop at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, which is not only obviously perfect for children but also surprisingly fun for adults.
  • Lastly, if you’re a shopper at heart, you can stop into the Grand Rapids Downton Market year-round, despite the cold.
