There are plenty of events to attend in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but the Red Shoe Brew is the place to be this May. Taking place on May 17, the event is sure to be full of food and fun for attendees. The new festival will feature brews from eight local breweries and all proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan.

Since the event mainly revolves around alcohol, anyone under the age of 21 will not be permitted to attend. The Red Show Brew event kicks off on May 17, at 5 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Attendees will have the option to try two craft brews from eight total breweries. Attending breweries include Perrin, New Holland Brewing - The Knickerbocker, Brewery Vivant, Vander, Mill, Elk Brewing, Gravel Bottom, and Railtown Brewing.

Food will be provided by Chefette’s Ono Grindz and will include pork and chicken sliders with homemade chips on the side. Vegans and vegetarians have the option of a meal suited to their lifestyle provided by Nutcase Vegan Meats.

Tickets start at $35 and includes five tasting tokens as well as a food voucher. The VIP ticket, which included five tasting tokens, a food voucher, and guaranteed seating in the beer-garden VIP tent, is sold out.

Entertainment includes live music provided by Channing and Quinn and DJ services by 616Sounds. Yard games will be available for all to take part in. A selfie stand offers the opportunity to grab a great picture of what’s sure to be a memorable night!

The Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan aims to provide housing for families of children who are traveling for medical treatment.
