Summer Maintenance and Service Tips
Warm temperatures can be especially brutal on your car. That’s why it’s important to regularly service your vehicle at a trusted garage.

According to AutoTrader, one of the most important things to do is maintain fluid levels. Coolant and other fluids keep your car operating smoothly – let one fluid level get too low and you could have serious problems. Important fluids to check every two weeks include: antifreeze/coolant, motor oil, windshield washer fluid, and transmission oil.

It’s always a good idea to check tire pressure as well. Not only will proper inflation ensure you’re safe, but it can also reduce friction and optimize fuel economy. Consult your manual to make sure your tires are properly inflated. Remember, an increase in 10 degrees equals an increase in 1psi (air pressure), and vice versa. Plan accordingly for warm and cool temperatures.

Changing the oil, oil filter, and air filter will also extend the life of your car. Certified technicians will also inspect your car while doing regular maintenance like this, catching issues before they become big problems. Anyone can change your oil – only the pros know when something isn’t quite right.

Keeping your car’s exterior in good condition is also important, and can even increase resale value. Make sure to park in the shade when possible, and don’t be afraid to wash and wax it every few weeks. Use a wax that offers UV protection to reduce sun damage as much as possible.

With these summer maintenance tips in mind, your car will look and run better than ever.
